You will find in this short article, suggestions of exercises to improve or to maintain the health of your eyes.

With my background as a natural health counsellor and blogger promoting holistic well-being, I am a fervent of the use of natural resources and the individual responsibility regarding health, including that of the eyes. This means, whenever possible, to not depend on external sources for our health and well-being.

Having said that, health care professionals have their place for sure, and if necessary do not hesitate to consult them, but often there are things we can do to take care of ourselves and make a difference in our own health and well-being.

For example, there are eye exercises known to improve eyesight like eye yoga, the Bates Method or acupressure.

Eye Yoga

Below is a full session of yoga beneficial for the eyes. If you don’t feel to do a complete yoga class, watch the video from the 32 to the 41 minute, where the instructor shows specific eye exercises to do while standing.

The Bates Method

Develop by William Bates in the early 20th century, this method have been popularized by Aldous Huxley (The Art of Seeing) and Meir Schneider (The Natural Vision Improvement Kit).

Acupressure

This is a gentle stimulation of acupuncture points with fingers and one of the natural methods of care that I prefer and which has proven its effectiveness on all the members of my family for years.
