The Photography’s Aesthetics
I have no art exhibition planned this fall.
In fact, I wanted to submit some of my digital paintings to international juried exhibitions, unfortunately, those who accept digital art, favor an aesthetic common to photography using mostly gray, black, white and representative subject, while I’m rather in the abstract and very colorful painting like style. Useless thus to look on that side…
Digital Art Refused
About the art exhibition opened to more traditional mediums like acrylics, pastel or oils, they almost always refuse the digital painting… at the exception of vanity galleries where it is necesary to pay to rent the walls… option which I refuse.
Really, I did not choose the easiest path.
There is a term for the kind of digital painting I do. This is “Tradigital”. A combination of TRAditional and DIGITAL. Tradigital art is used to indicate art either create with both traditional and digital means or art using digital technology in a traditional way or imitating traditional mediums.
This term is the closest fit I found to name my digital paintings and my hybrid series.
Help is Welcomed
I am looking for new places to exhibit my digital “Tradigital” art which is neither traditional painting, nor photos modified digitally, but digital paintings created in a traditional way or based on scanned traditional paintings. If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know because this time, I’m not sure to find a solution by myself.
About the Painting
The painting illustrating this blog post was created last month of May. I simply forget to show it to you. It is the perfect example of the kind of painting which does not correspond at all to the aesthetics looked for in most digital art exhibitions. It is sad because I would like it to be shown in a gallery. For now, you are the only ones to see it. Lucky you … 😉
Thanks for your presence here on the blog. It means a lot to me.
See you soon,
