Histoire récente (Recent History)Oil Paint and Cold Wax on Polyester Film
Histoire récente (Recent History)
Mediums and substrate:
Oil paint, cold wax and alkyd gel medium on Dura-Lar polyester film.
Painting: 9 x 12 x 1/8 inches (22,86 x 30,48 cm x 2 mm)
This painting is part of a series of experimental works exploring conscious movement, the paint and color harmonies. It was made from a mixture of oil paint, cold wax and alkyd gel medium on a matte polyester film. The beeswax gives body and texture to the oil paint, while the alkyd gel medium makes the mixture more flexible and resistant to crumbling.
This artwork is shipped with a certificate of authenticity.
A white double mat is offered as an option. See the next section for details.

The logo does not appear on the original painting.
The artist’s signature is on the front of the work, although it is not always visible on the pictures.
At the back you will find the title of the work, the date, the mediums used, as well as the artist’s signature.
This paint is protected by a layer of hand-polished beeswax giving it a light texture and a satin finish. Although this type of finish can withstand the open air, it is suggested to frame the painting under glass or Plexiglas with a mat or spacers so that the surface of the painting does not touch the glass or Plexiglas.
The paint is offered with or without a mat.
The option without a mat includes:
- The painting
- The certificate of authenticity
The option with a mat includes:
- The painting – 9 x 12 x 1/8 inches (22.86 x 30.48 x 2 mm).
- An acid-free, double, white mat of archival quality – size 14 x 11 in (35.56 x 27.94 cm) – window opening: 7 ½ x 9 ½ inches (17.78 x 22.86 cm)
- An acid-free foam board to protect the back of the paint.
- The certificate of authenticity.
Please note that the window opening of the optional mat is smaller than the artwork and will hide a good part of it. If you like the rough sides of the painting, you are advised to choose the option without a mat. Your framer will be happy to cut a custom mat with a larger window or use spacers.
The option with a mat is available for those who prefer a quick and economical solution, as well as a painting with a less raw feel. Just insert the set into a standard 11 x 14 inches frame with a good depth and you are ready to hang the artwork on your wall!

Purchase of Several Artworks
If you want to buy several artworks in the same order, please contact me so that I can estimate the delivery costs manually. The automated system of the shop unfortunately does not adjust the delivery costs to the quantity bought and you would risk paying more than necessary.
Orders are usually processed within 72 hours of receipt during working days (Monday to Friday) for limited editions printed at a professionnal photo lab.
Parcels are then delivered by Canada Post from Quebec.
Delivery times vary according to your location, and the size of the artworks purchased.
Small paper artworks (10 “x 13” and smaller) that can be safely shipped in a cardboard envelope are those that usually take the least amount of shipping time because they travel by air.
Here is the time estimated by Canada Post for parcels sent by air:
- 3 to 5 days for Canada
- 6 to 12 days for the rest of the world.
Larger artworks that need to be put in a box or those that require more protection (those larger than 10 x 13 in, or those made on wood for example) are shipped by surface transportation (and possibly by boat). The delivery time is then much longer.
Here is the time estimated by Canada Post for surface packages:
- Europe: 1-2 months
- Asia Pacific / Australia: 2-3 months
- Africa: 2-3 months
- South America: 1-2 months
For these packages, the delivery service by air is possible, but the costs are much higher and are not offered in the shop. If you are interested, contact me and I will be able to give you an estimate of the costs and delivery time.
Please note that customs may delay the delivery of your package.
Customs and import fees
The buyer is responsible for customs fees and taxes if applicable in their country.
